The identity of Bergen city's March 8th was created in collaboration with my peers at KMD: Anny Follesøy, Matilda Erika Strandberg, Oline Løseth, Viktoria Røisli and Vilde Valland Aarseth. We volunteered to create the identity for Kvinnedagen and Kvinnefestivalen in Bergen as part of a school project on design activism. As the event was held during the pandemic, the identity was designed with digital platforms in mind, especially for being visually present on SoMe such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
The colour palette, which consists of azalea pink and san marino blue, represents both feminine and masculine qualities. Combined with the black and white portraits, the design enhances unity between different walks of life, genders, nationalities and their opinions on feminism. The typeface Bastardo Groteskish by Giulia Boggio was chosen for the promotions and the font PT Serif Regular by Alexandra Korolkova, Olga Umpeleva and Vladimir Yefimov for the logotype as to promote female designers.
